I primarily use positive reinforcement, but I do not call myself a positive reinforcement trainer because I do believe that some corrections are necessary. I do not use choke or prong collars. The thing that PR training does not take into account is that dogs do behaviors (that we may not appreciate) that are self reinforcing. Our job, is to find a combination of reinforcement tools that work for you and your dog!

I have some news. You are alpha. You have a frontal lobe and thumbs. And money to buy the delicious dog food and treats. Behavior disagreements are generally due to communication breakdowns. I had a great translator for many years to teach me "dog". I would love to teach it to you.
